Bra – 15 to 18 September 2017
Friday to Sunday from 10 am to midnight, Monday from 10 am to 8 pm. So much to do, learn, and taste.
For its 11th edition, the layout of Cheese will look similar to past years: There will be free events taking place in the streets, squares, and courtyards of Bra’s historic center, where you’ll find the Cheese Market, the Biodiversity House, the Great Hall of Cheese, the Enoteca, the Natural area (new this year, dedicated to cheese, cured meats, wine and bread free of commercial starter cultures, nitrites, nitrates and other artificial additives), the beer and food truck square, two cinemas hosting Cheese on the Screen, the Taste Library, the Taste Workshops, conference spaces, the main stage and other venues for hosting members of Slow Food both old and new.
The association is particularly thrilled to welcome you to its home in Via della Mendicità Istruita. Our long-standing headquarters are located here, at number 14, and for some months now this historic site has been officially ours, as on April 18 the contract was signed to acquire it. This is of enormous value to Slow Food. For the first time at Cheese, the association’s activities will be held right here in the Casa Slow Food, specifically in the beautiful street on which the Casa stands.
Another important section of the event will be held in Pollenzo, 6 kilometers from the center of Bra, where the University of Gastronomic Sciences, the Wine Bank and the Albergo dall’Agenzia are located. Beyond visiting the magnificent grounds, this is where you’ll be able to take part in the Dinner Dates and the Taste Workshops on wine.
Entry to Cheese is free, while tickets for the Dinner Dates and Taste Workshops will be on sale via the online store. The deadline for online booking is September 12, 2017. An email confirmation will be sent after booking. Bookings cannot be made by telephone. Any remaining spaces can be booked during Cheese at the Events Reception. By clicking here, you can read the general conditions of sale for our events.
An important reminder: Slow Food members will have special events reserved only for them this year, and can make bookings at discounted prices. A good reason to join us!
The Italian and international marketplace is open every day from 10:00 am to 8:30 pm.
The Presidia Street is open the same hours, from 10am to 8:30 pm.
Street food, food trucks, the Beer Square and Pizza Square are open Friday to Sunday, from noon to midnight, and Monday from noon to 8:30 pm.
Security has always been a fundamental aspect in the organization of large events. At Cheese 2017, in collaboration with the City of Bra, the police forces and health operators will be at your disposal to create a safe environment for a peaceful enjoyment of the event.
From September 15 to 18, 2017, in conjunction with the eleventh edition of Cheese, the town of Bra will experience some logistic and organizational changes that will particularly affect residents of the area and everyone in the city center. During the opening hours of Cheese, the whole event area will be prohibited to vehicular traffic and parking, even for residents. Outside the permitted times, the area will be managed and regulated by means of slowing down barriers.
There are one-way streets: one in Corso Garibaldi from Piazza Caduti per la Libertà towards Piazza XX Settembre, and in Via Principi di Piemonte / Via Marconi from Via Fratelli Carando in the direction of Via Vittorio Emanuele.
We would also like to remind you that all the recycling areas are strictly to be used with the correct division of waste.
Another important novelty for the frequenters of Enoteca and Natural Space: This year it’s not possible to buy a wine glass and take it outside the degustation areas. The glasses will be given out for free and, for safety reasons, they are to be returned to the provided spaces at the Enoteca and Natural Space.

Management of Health Emergencies
The medical aid officials can be reached by calling 118. A team of health professionals coordinated by Dr. Simone Di Giogi will be present during the event: two doctors, a professional nurse, and more than twenty teams around for basic life support (BLS).
The operational center is at Bra’s city police, where the main health care center will also be located with the infirmary. There will also be walking Red Cross teams and ambulances in strategic locations. There will be two advanced rescue vehicles, with a physician on board, and five basic rescue vehicles. We will also have 7 automated external defibrillators (AED) and 19 Slow Food first aid workers trained on first aid and AED to intervene in case of any cardiac arrest.
The tools are supplied by Progetti Medical, the Italian leader company in the creation, production, and commercialization of defibrillators.

If you experience any health issues, or see anybody in danger and health problem: If you can, get close to a Slow Food point, any AED point, consult to a health professional present at the event, call for somebody’s attention, call 112. Remember the Chain of Survival!
