The Caffè letterario is back in the Slow Food Editore courtyard with a packed program of entertainment. Take a seat and enjoy book launches with tastings, listen to acoustic concerts and read the newspapers every morning while savoring a delicious breakfast.

Music

What would a party be without music?
The stage in Piazza Caduti per la Libertà will host traditional groups and renowned Italian bands who will provide the soundtrack to Cheese.

Buon Formaggio Award

Slow Food celebrates the importance of businesses that promote specialties from small-scale artisanal cheesemakers with the Buon Formaggio (good cheese) award. Restaurants, osterias, shops and affineurs who offer an exceptional range of cheeses to their clients will receive this recognition on Monday September 21 at 10.30 am at the Teatro Politeama.

Cheese Plate Restaurants

For a few days before the event and throughout Cheese, many Piedmontese restaurants will be offering a cheese plate specially selected by Slow Food. Following the serious earthquake that devastated parts of Abruzzo in April this year, the proceeds from this initiative will be dedicated to the Canestrato di Castel del Monte Slow Food Presidium in this region.

Cheese Kids

Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm
Mini Taste Workshops specially designed for children aged 4 to 12 will be held at Bra’s Sant’Antonino nursery school. Italian only.

Costume Parade

Saturday, through the streets of Bra
The Carnevalspettacolo association and children from Ghemme’s schools will present their 2009 Carnival performance dressed in original foam-rubber costumes inspired by the cheeses, cows, goats, snails, puddings and ice creams designed by Cinzia Ghigliano for the Slow Food Editore book Il formaggio. Una storia vera, anzi due (Cheese, a true story or two).
