There’s a vast border region between Italy and Slovenia along the Natisone valleys, a realm of forests, waters, and gastronomy, but above all, well-maintained meadows and pastures tended to by the local population.

It’s a world of small businesses and farms that offer goat and cow cheeses, honey, and meats from these meadows. A gastronomic world deeply rooted in Slovenian language and traditions, making it truly unique. In this workshop, we present an overview of the area’s dairy productions characterized by the use of pastures and stable meadow hay from the Natisone region. You’ll also taste the briza, a soup made with white-fleshed squash and buttermilk. It will all be even more delightful when paired with Slow Wines from the Eastern Hills of Friuli and slivovitz, a plum distillate produced in Slovenia, just a few kilometers beyond the border.

The food is paired with wines from Eastern Friuli and Slivovitz (a traditional plum spirit).

Tickets are available online until September 14. From September 15-18 any remaining tickets will be available to buy at the Event Reception in Via Mendicità Istruita 14.

Cheese 2023 is organized by Slow Food and the City of Bra from September 15-18. See you there! #Cheese2023
