tabUi, the Official App of #Cheese19

Its name is both Piedmontese and international, much like the event of Cheese itself.

It’s symbol is a red puppy: the truffle-hunting dog which is known in local dialect as tabui, which becomes an acronym in the name of the official app for Cheese 2019:

  • Territory
  • Art
  • Beauty
  • Unesco
  • Innovation

This is an app which has become widely popular in Piedmont, particularly the wine-growing regions of the Langhe and Roero, and it continues to grow: tabUi App

Cheese 2019 and Cassa di Risparmio di Bra have chosen tabUi as the official app of the event: this is the place to get general info on things like parking, security, ATMs, and also to check the event calendar and the list of exhibitors.

You’ll be able to find your way around the various event areas from the screen of your smartphone, and get more information on the things in front of your eyes via markers in a form of augmented reality. Your phone or tablet interacts with these real-world markers to reveal places, paths, and the time it takes to get from one place to another.

Via tabUi Cheese can send you notifications in real time: what are the unmissable activities that day? What’s on sale at the market? How can you best spend a day with the family? You can even listen to Radio BraOnTheRocks, which will be covering the event live from 10 a.m. to 8.30 p.m.

You can also use tabUi in the wider Langhe region: discover the roads, walks and sights of interest che nei giorni di Cheese, dalle 10:00 alle 20:30, offre una diretta non stop dell’evento.

“Discover the breed” is a Treasure Hunt, where you can find out more about the breeds which produce the milk we use to make delicious cheeses!

In the game you’ll need to search the streets of Bra to find nine different animal breeds. The first 35 people to find all nine breeds each day (but be careful! There’s a tenth breed out there, a very common one, which isn’t worth any points) will receive a prize.

You can play the game every day of Cheese from September 20 to 23, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (but only until 3 p.m. on Monday September 23). There’s no need to book, or a minimum number of players: all you need to do is enjoy yourself discovering the animals hidden around town!

Download the app tabUi (Android/iOS) click on the Cheese logo and then on “Discover the breed”. Sign up and point your camera at the QR codes around the city. Each QR code represents an animal breed.

Once you’ve found all nine breeds, come to the tabUi point at the CRB stand in Via Principi di Piemonte to collect your prize.

The Cheese section of Tabui is brought to you in collaboration with Cassa di Risparmio di Bra, Official event partner, and will appear on the app from the end of August.

Tabui is available for iOs and Android and is free to download on Google Play and Apple App Store.
